Support for Drivers, Whenever You Need It

From getting verified to getting paid, here's what you need to know about driving on MyTruckMate — and how to reach us if something isn't adding up.

Create Driver Account

Getting Verified

Before you can bid on jobs or accept a Day Driver Hire booking, our Support team reviews your account. Make sure the following are complete and up to date:

  • Driver's licence — current and valid for the vehicle class you'll be driving
  • Vehicle documents — registration and relevant compliance paperwork for the vehicle you'll use
  • Address — a current residential address on file
  • Identification — a valid form of ID to confirm who you are

Once you submit your documents, Support reviews them and you'll be notified as soon as your account is approved.

Bidding on Jobs vs. Day Driver Hire

There are two ways to find work on MyTruckMate. Marketplace jobs let you browse freight posted by customers and businesses and place a bid with your price — the customer chooses the offer that suits them. Day Driver Hire is different: customers book you directly for a set number of hours or days at a rate you set, rather than quoting job by job.

You can use either or both, depending on how you want to work. Join Day Driver Hire from your dashboard once your account is verified.

Getting Paid

Payouts run through Stripe, straight to your bank account. Drivers keep 85% of the job or hire value, with the remaining share going to the platform.

  • Marketplace jobs — funds are released to your wallet once the job is completed and confirmed
  • Day Driver Hire — payments are held in escrow and released once the booking's scheduled work is complete
  • GST & BAS — every payout is itemised, and you can export a BAS-ready summary of your earnings for your accountant or tax return

If a Job Is Disputed

Message the customer through in-app chat first — most issues are resolved this way. If you can't reach an agreement, contact our Support team and we'll step in to help mediate, using the job's record (messages, timestamps, and job details) to work out a fair outcome.

Keeping Your Documents Current

Licences and vehicle documents don't last forever. Update yours in your profile before they expire to avoid any interruption to bidding or accepting hire requests — an expired document can pause your account until it's replaced and re-verified.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does driver verification take?

Once you've submitted your licence, vehicle documents, address, and ID, our Support team reviews everything as quickly as possible. You'll be notified the moment your account is approved.

Can I do both marketplace jobs and Day Driver Hire?

Yes. Bidding on marketplace jobs and joining Day Driver Hire aren't exclusive — many drivers use both, depending on the work available and how they prefer to plan their week.

What percentage do I keep from a job?

Drivers keep 85% of the job or hire value. The rest goes toward running the platform.

When do I actually get paid?

For marketplace jobs, funds are released to your wallet once the job is completed and confirmed. For Day Driver Hire, funds are held in escrow and released after the booking's scheduled work is done.

What do I do if a customer disputes a job?

Try to resolve it directly through in-app chat first. If that doesn't work, contact Support — we'll review the job record and help mediate a fair outcome.

What happens if my licence or vehicle documents expire?

An expired document can pause your ability to bid on jobs or accept hire requests until you upload a current one and it's re-verified. Update your documents ahead of their expiry to avoid any gap.

How do I get GST or BAS information for my earnings?

Your payout history is itemised with GST, and you can export a BAS-ready summary from your wallet for your own records or your accountant.
