MyTruckMate Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of MyTruckMate's freight marketplace, whether you're posting a job, bidding on one, or managing a fleet. They cover accounts and verification, how bookings and payments work, and where responsibility sits between MyTruckMate and the drivers and businesses who transact on the platform.

Quick summary

MyTruckMate is a freight marketplace — we connect parties, we don't carry freight ourselves.

Businesses and driver sole traders are verified against the ABR before full access.

Jobs are booked via bidding/quotes or fixed-term Day Driver Hire.

Platform commission is currently 15%, with 85% paid to the driver via Stripe.

Day Driver Hire funds sit in escrow until Support manually releases them after completion.

Liability for a job sits with the transacting driver/business, each required to hold their own insurance.

The MyTruckMate Platform

MyTruckMate is a freight marketplace, not a transport operator. Understanding that distinction matters for everything else in these terms.

1.1 We're a marketplace, not a carrier

MyTruckMate operates an online marketplace that connects customers and businesses who need freight moved with independent drivers and transport businesses who can move it. MyTruckMate does not own trucks, does not employ drivers, and does not itself provide transport, freight, or logistics services. Every job on the platform is a contract for services between the customer or business posting the job and the driver or business that accepts it.

1.2 Who these terms cover

These Terms of Service apply to everyone who accesses MyTruckMate: customers and businesses posting jobs, drivers and fleets fulfilling them, and dispatch partners and support staff operating on the platform. By creating an account or using the platform you agree to be bound by these terms.

1.3 Acceptance of these terms

You accept these terms when you create an account, and again whenever a role-specific agreement (such as the Driver Agreement) is presented for acceptance during registration or before a job. Continuing to use the platform after we publish updated terms means you accept the update.

2

Accounts & Eligibility

Access to MyTruckMate is tied to a verified, real Australian identity or business.

2.1 ABN and business verification

Businesses and fleets registering on MyTruckMate must hold a valid, active Australian Business Number, which we verify against the Australian Business Register (ABR) before granting full access. Drivers registering as sole traders are also verified this way where applicable. Accounts with mismatched, inactive, or unverifiable ABNs will not be approved.

2.2 One account per entity or person

Each individual or legal entity may hold one account per role. Businesses operating multiple sites add branches inside their existing account rather than registering separately, and fleets manage multiple drivers and vehicles under a single fleet account. Duplicate or impersonating accounts will be declined or suspended.

2.3 Roles on the platform

MyTruckMate supports several account types — Customer, Driver, Business (owner, admin, or staff), Fleet, Support, and Admin — each with different capabilities and obligations described throughout these terms and in role-specific pages such as the Driver Agreement and Business Guidelines. You're responsible for keeping your account information accurate and for all activity that occurs under your login.

3

The Booking & Job Process

Jobs move through the marketplace in one of two ways, depending on how you choose to book.

3.1 Posting a job

Customers and businesses post jobs describing the freight, pickup and delivery locations, and any special requirements. Job details must be accurate — misdescribed weights, dimensions, or access conditions can affect a driver's ability to safely complete the job and may be grounds for a dispute.

3.2 Quotes and bidding

For standard jobs, drivers and businesses submit quotes or bids, and the job poster selects who to engage. A confirmed booking forms a direct contract between the job poster and the accepting driver or business for that job — MyTruckMate facilitates the match but is not a party to that contract.

3.3 Day Driver Hire bookings

As an alternative to bidding, customers can book a driver directly for a fixed period through Day Driver Hire. These bookings are paid for upfront and held in escrow until the engagement is complete, released only by manual Support or Admin action — never automatically — as described in the Fees & Payments section below.

4

Fees & Payments

All payments on MyTruckMate run through Stripe. We never see or store your card details.

4.1 Platform commission

MyTruckMate currently retains a platform commission of 15% of the job value, with the remaining 85% paid to the driver or business that completed the job. This split is configurable in our platform settings and may change from time to time — the current default will always be reflected in your invoicing and payout breakdowns.

4.2 Payments via Stripe

All payments, payouts, and refunds are processed through Stripe (via Checkout, Payment Links, or Stripe Connect for driver payouts). MyTruckMate does not store your card or bank account numbers — that information is held by Stripe under its own security and compliance obligations.

4.3 GST and fuel levy

Invoices generated on the platform include GST at 10% and a fuel levy of 5%, consistent with standard Australian freight industry conventions. These amounts are itemised separately on every invoice.

4.4 Escrow release for Day Driver Hire

Funds for Day Driver Hire bookings are held in escrow from the time of payment until the job is confirmed complete. Release of escrowed funds to the driver is always performed manually by a member of our Support or Admin team after reviewing job completion — there is no automatic timer-based release.

5

Cancellations & Disputes

Plans change. Here's how cancellations and disagreements are handled.

5.1 Cancelling a job

Either party may request to cancel a confirmed job before it begins. Depending on how much notice is given and how far along the booking is, a cancellation may be free, partially refunded, or subject to a fee to compensate the other party for time already committed.

5.2 Raising a dispute

If a job doesn't go as agreed — damaged freight, a no-show, a payment disagreement — either party can raise a dispute through the platform. Our Support team reviews the evidence from both sides, including job details, messages, and photos, before deciding on an outcome such as a refund, partial payment, or release of escrowed funds.

5.3 Acting in good faith

We expect everyone to engage with the dispute process honestly and promptly. Repeated unfounded disputes, or a pattern of cancelling confirmed jobs at the other party's expense, can affect your standing on the platform.

6

Acceptable Use

MyTruckMate exists to move legitimate freight safely. A few things are simply off-limits.

6.1 Prohibited conduct

You must not use MyTruckMate to move illegal goods, to circumvent platform fees by taking a matched job off-platform, to submit false information about yourself, your business, or a job, or to harass, discriminate against, or defraud another user.

6.2 Accurate information at all times

Every detail you provide — identity, ABN, licence and vehicle documents, job descriptions, quotes — must be true and kept up to date. Providing false or misleading information is a breach of these terms and may result in account suspension or termination.

7

Liability & Insurance

As a marketplace, MyTruckMate connects the parties to a job — the parties themselves carry the operational and insurance responsibility.

7.1 MyTruckMate is not the carrier

Because MyTruckMate does not perform transport services itself, we are not liable for loss, damage, delay, or injury arising from a job carried out by a driver or business on the platform. Liability for the performance of a job sits with the driver or business who accepted it, and with the customer or business who posted it, as the actual transacting parties.

7.2 Insurance is your responsibility

Drivers and businesses transacting on MyTruckMate are each required to hold insurance appropriate to their work — for example, public liability and vehicle insurance for drivers, and goods-in-transit or public liability cover for businesses consigning freight. We may ask for evidence of current cover as part of registration or an active dispute.

8

Suspension & Termination

Accounts stay in good standing by following these terms — most issues are resolvable.

8.1 When we may suspend or terminate an account

We may suspend or terminate an account for breach of these terms, provision of false information, failed verification, non-payment, or conduct that puts other users or the platform at risk. Where practical, we'll tell you why and what's needed to resolve it.

8.2 Closing your own account

You may close your account at any time, subject to completing any jobs already in progress and settling any outstanding balances.

9

Changes to These Terms

The platform evolves, and these terms evolve with it.

9.1 How we update these terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time to reflect changes to the platform, our fees, or applicable law. Material changes will be highlighted with an updated 'last updated' date on this page, and continued use of the platform after an update takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

10

Governing Law

10.1 These terms are governed by Australian law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of Australia, and any dispute that cannot be resolved through our internal process is subject to the jurisdiction of Australian courts.
